Country Music Star Kira Isabella Performs for Students at Band Aid Celebration
Today, MusiCounts, Canada’s leading music education charity associated with CARAS, the JUNO Awards and the CCMA, awarded $10,000 in new musical instruments to London, Ontario’s Wilton Grove Public School.
“I was in elementary school when I started taking singing lessons, and it helped me stay true to myself as I entered my teenage years,” said Kira Isabella. “I feel so lucky to be part of today’s MusiCounts celebration and help surprise the students and staff of Wilton Grove Public School with these amazing instruments. What a way to kick-off country music week!”
Also announced at today’s presentation is that MusiCounts has opened applications for the Band Aid Program.
“The music industry, and specifically the Country music industry, have really embraced the challenge of keeping music alive in the classrooms. They don’t just talk the talk, they walk it too,” said Kristy Fletcher, Director, MusiCounts. “Our special guest Kira Isabella is representative of this, and we’re so grateful for her support today along with the CCMA.”
